Our Approach

We challenge the
15-minute consult.

The Mobile Physio began in 2017 with a single vision: transform physiotherapy by making high-quality, convenient, personalised rehabilitation accessible right inside our community.

We build clinical relationships on trust and care, and we listen to each client's individual needs. With longer session times we reject the status quo of quick consults and exercise handouts — optimising every visit for thorough assessment, hands-on treatment, exercise rehab and a recovery plan built around your goals.

Our mission is simple: accessible care for all New Zealanders.

Questions

Before
you book.

Everything you need to know about how mobile physiotherapy works — and what to expect when we arrive.

Do I need a referral?

No. You can book directly with us — no GP referral required. We're ACC registered, so if your injury qualifies we can lodge and manage the claim for you.

What does ACC cover — and what doesn't it?

ACC covers injuries such as sprains, fractures and workplace injuries. It generally does not cover gradual wear-and-tear or pain without a clear cause. Not sure where you sit? We'll help you work it out before your first session.

What conditions can you treat at home?

A wide range — musculoskeletal injuries, Parkinson's and neurological conditions, post-surgical rehab, falls prevention, and pelvic floor / women's health. If you're unsure whether we can help, just ask.

How long is a session, and why does it matter?

Standard sessions run up to 60 minutes. That extra time lets us deliver a thorough assessment, real hands-on treatment, exercise rehab and a tailored plan — instead of a rushed 15-minute consult with an exercise handout.

Do I need equipment? What do you bring?

Nothing on your end — your physiotherapist brings the equipment needed for your session. Treating you in your own environment also means we can assess your real setup and recommend the right aids for everyday life.

Can a family member or carer be involved?

Absolutely. We welcome family members and carers in sessions — it helps everyone understand the recovery plan and how to support it between visits.
